'One Fine Day' - Daniel Dale

Because of my job, I'd find myself walking home and crossing the city centre at night on weekdays when there wasn't much nightlife and the city was quiet.

At night the city felt paused, the passing of time didn't feel obvious and the evening came as a bit of comfort.

Its northern chip on the shoulder is not necessarily revealed here, but rather the images probe with gentleness, I did a lot of thinking during this time and listened to music that for me resonates through the work, including Radiohead's A Moon Shaped Pool, and the music of Daughter.

Although not explicit straight away, the work on reflection has the possibility to walk a fine line of quiet safety for thought, but also on the flip side, there is this tense surreal silence.
