ATTRACTION MADE VISIBLE - Julia Ishac

"The concept of visualizing positive thinking and becoming your own magnet for attracting what you want in life felt powerful."

Starting with the idea of wanting to create a personal project with a rough narrative, the openness to embrace unexpected moments and casual encounters resulted in a photo series (and poem) with an organic, serendipitous quality. There was a collaborative effort that came intuitively, starting with friends and ending up including new people: one of the girls was someone they’d just met at the location. Being open to collaboration in the moment is something I truly value, says Julia.

It all happened this summer, between two hours of glowing sunset light on a hidden beach in the Basque Country, France. Embracing the accidental, spontaneity and the fleeting moments in an atmosphere of freedom and playfulness, brought together a message that unfolded freely through the process.

The concept of visualizing positive thinking and becoming your own magnet for attracting what you want in life felt powerful. The project also happened to be about being free, feeling comfortable in your body, and embracing that sense of ease and connection with yourself and others. That natural playfulness, the joy of simply being. It’s less about overthinking and more about letting things happen in a fluid, organic way, which I think gives the work its authenticity.”

Magnetism on a Spice Girls Dilution.

Under the bluest glow,
Or whispers of dawn’s soft, tender show,
We twirled in a dance, hearts intertwined,
In a pure sorority, body spirits aligned.

A game played, a lure, just a playful tease,
With laughter as currency, we danced as we pleased.
You know it’s for fun, a radiant jest,
In the warmth of the moment, we feel truly blessed.

Nothing’s more magnetic, nothing’s more true,
Then the promise of us all returning anew.
We plunge into joy, the ocean vast and wide,
My body and hers, in harmony, glide.

Empowered we stand, like stars in the night, our souls take flight.
So let the moon witness our glee,
In the dance of attraction, forever we’ll be.
