Since our trip, my brother has faced a long and arduous course of treatment, including chemotherapy. And we, as a family, were there to support him — just as we were on the boat that day.

At the end of July 2022, my brothers invited me on a small family fishing trip. I felt it was a different kind of trip, so I accepted their invitation.
Being in the same boat with my brothers (literally), I saw them as caring and passionate, even romantic people. I felt that the bond between us was much stronger than I had ever felt before.
I was right: this trip was different. Vladimir, my older brother, got cancer. Stage II lymphoma.
